Do Firemen Really Rescue Cats From Trees? The Answer is Yes!

Everyone knows the stereotype of firemen rescuing cats from trees, but have you ever wondered if it happens in real life? As the pictures below show, many firefighters really do have a heart for animals. The first photo shows where a poor kitty was stranded, in a very, very tall tree for 12 hours:

Fortunately, it was firefighters to the rescue! The Osceola County, Florida, fire department dispatched a truck with a ladder that reached the frightened kitty's perch. You can see her snuggled in her rescuer's arms below:

Now the search is on for the rescued cat's family or a new adoptive home. She's already had one Christmas miracle, so hopefully she'll get a second one. The photos were provided by Jennifer Cook.

You never know what kind of scrape your pets will get into. I recommend always keeping a pet first aid kit and a dog or cat evacuation kit on hand if you have canine or feline friends.
